Many youths are increasingly using the social media platform to market their goods and services in Ongata Rongai town all in the name of self employment and a means of earning extra cash.

The young entrepreneurs use sites and mobile phones applications such as Facebook, Twitter and increasingly Whats app to find customers and sell products and services online.

Most of online sellers are students in nearby local univesisties such as Multimedia University of Kenya, African Nazarene University and Cooperative University .The business people market their products online to save on operational costs such as rent and also to reach out to a wider market within Nairobi and its environs.

According to dotsavvyafrica.com ,facebook is the most used social media in Kenya with upto five million active users  thus a huge market potential to online enterprises.
